"Hard" Rihanna feat Jeezy

All right blogosphere, your effects are showing already. Yesterday, amide a myriad of errands, I found the time to seek out and pick around the only vintage store I know of. I used to be under the impression that vintage clothing was gross; I mean who wants to wear used clothing, let alone old used clothing. But, thanks to blogs like "The Glamourai," Jessica Schroder's "What I Wore," and vintage sellers on etsy.com, I have a whole new appreciation for the style. I'm not going to lie, the idea of spending time digging through racks and bins just to maybe find a garment of interest, hasn't really been my thing. There were MANY items that I felt belonged in Cameron Diaz and Christina Applegate's movie montage in "The Sweetest Thing." In an odd way, though, it put a new spin on shopping for me. No longer was I influenced by the "made to go together" ensembles found in mall stores; in fact, there were absolutely no mannequins in Boulder's "The Goldmine" vintage shop at all. For once, I was forced to use my own creativity in determining whether or not a garment could be chic. I ended up taking two blazers and what I thought was a dress, into the fitting room. Apparently the dress was actually some sort of a jumper, and the camel plaid blazer, that I was most excited to try on, was way too large. The grey blazer, pictured above, was much more charming on me than the hanger. It fit like a glove, and I really liked the leather knot buttons. I pictured wearing it with my "american vintage" white tee, "love quotes" pink scarf, "seven for all mankind" jeans, and of course my "marc jacobs" sunglasses. This casual look will most likely be one of my sunday "adventure day" outfits! I'm thinking, brunch, window shopping, fresh markets, flowers, food and wine. That will be one heck of a great day! Yup, you know this...!
